You already have a quality signal across your shops. Nobody is measuring it.

Every vehicle that leaves one of your bays either holds its calibration or does not. That outcome is currently invisible, which means shop performance gets judged on cycle time and CSI rather than on whether the work held.

Measurement

A rate per shop, with the interval attached.

Post-repair flag rate is the closest thing to an objective calibration quality metric a network can have. It is measured after the vehicle leaves, on the road, by something with no stake in the invoice.

It is also extremely easy to misuse. The worst-ranked shop on this chart has a flag rate of nearly twelve percent, and it is also the shop with seventy-four jobs in the window — its confidence interval spans almost the whole scale. Ranking it against a shop with four hundred jobs is not a ranking, it is noise given an ordinal. Every rate we report carries its interval and its sample count for that reason, and we will argue with anyone who wants to strip them off for a slide.

Used carefully, the signal is genuinely actionable: a shop that is consistently high across enough volume usually has a specific, fixable cause — a target board out of level, a technician who was never trained on dynamic calibration, a bay with the wrong lighting.

Throughput

Fewer comebacks, and a recheck load you can plan.

The commercial argument for an MSO is not the flag, it is the comeback. A vehicle that returns because the calibration did not hold consumes a bay slot, a technician, and a customer relationship, and none of it is billable.

Networks that started attaching evidence to their calibration work saw return visits fall by roughly a third over the following two months. Part of that is the measurement effect — work that is checked gets done differently — and part is that a flagged vehicle comes back on your schedule instead of the customer's.

The load is real and worth being straight about. Monitoring adds rechecks, typically four to nine per bay per week. Most bays absorb that inside existing capacity. One usually cannot, and knowing which one before you sign is more useful than a projection that pretends the work is free.

Evidence

One artefact that all three parties can check.

The shop performs the calibration, the fleet carries the risk, and the insurer prices it. Today each of those parties keeps its own record, none of them can verify the others, and every handoff is a re-keying exercise that loses fidelity.

A signed evidence bundle collapses that into a single artefact. The shop's scan and bay record, the fleet's tier and work order, and the insurer's settlement file all reference the same signed object, and each party can verify the signature independently without trusting the party upstream or contacting us.

For a network this is the part with the most commercial upside. Being able to prove that your work held is the strongest position a repair business can occupy in a conversation with a fleet buyer or a carrier, and it is currently a position nobody in the industry can occupy at all.

Who holds what The same signed record crosses both boundaries. No party has to trust the previous one, because each verifies the signature itself.

We do not operate calibration bays and have no intention of starting.

The network is the delivery channel, not the competition — a monitoring layer that competed with its own distribution would be a poorly designed business.
